Introduction to mHub Cloud

What is mHub Cloud?

mHub Cloud is a cloud-based SaaS solution for server-side tracking of website data. Unlike traditional methods of user tracking, mHub Cloud is not limited by browser and ad blocker restrictions on cookie collection, allowing for a significantly greater portion of data to be collected, while being fully compliant with GDPR and ePrivacy. mHub Cloud is installed directly from the Azure Marketplace. A step-by-step walkthrough is provided here.

How does mHub Cloud work?

The entirety of mHub Cloud is hosted on Microsoft Azure servers, in the region of the client's choice (as the default setting, West Europe, with servers located in the Netherlands, is recommended). Cross Masters is responsible for the maintenance of the mHub Cloud service and its instances in clients' Azure subscription. Each client has their own separate instance, hosted within their respective Azure account, ensuring total separation of data between clients.

The entire process of data reception and processing functions like a real-time stream. Incoming data is not stored, but instead processed and forwarded into selected platforms in real time. Data is thus not sent directly to marketing and analytical platforms, but is passed via mHub Cloud, giving the instance owner full control over the data flow, as well as exactly what data is sent. The instance owner remains the only data controller.

Cloud architecture

The mHub Cloud solution is composed of a chain of Azure resources. Firstly, functions load data coming from the website where mHub Cloud is implemented, or from any other source, into an Azure Event Hub. From there, data is consumed by a tag management system (TMS), used for sorting and sending the data to the target platform. This process is modular and highly customisable, allowing you to only utilise the parts necessary for your use case, or add components, such as event validation according to a provided schema.

The mHub Cloud license

mHub Cloud is a subcription-based software available exclusively from the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Thus, an Azure account is needed to install and use mHub Cloud. The mHub Cloud subscription fee is billed monthly, with the amount varying based on your choice of plan (Basic, Enterprise), and is paid to Microsoft, along with any other costs that may be incurred within your Azure account.

mHub Cloud Portal

An important feature of mHub Cloud is the Portal, which allows clients to monitor the event stream and directly manage features of their instance. The Portal provides a user-friendly means of interacting with the mHub Cloud instance.

The mHub Cloud Portal supports single sign-on (SSO) with multi-factor authentication. Login with Microsoft credentials is currently supported, while Google credentials will soon be supported also. Each user has their own unique ID, allowing for access and access levels to be easily managed.

Configuration

mHubCloud is ready to use once it has been installed, but there are many features which are easy to miss if you skip the configuration process. More information about how to configure a new mHub Cloud instance can be found here.

Cross Masters offers full setup and configuration support free of charge. Additionally, with the Enterprise plan, all your maintenance and change request processing demands are included in the subscription fee. Do not hesitate to contact us at info@mhubcloud.com
